Hi there and thanks for tuning in to PMS (Pass Me the Star [Screwdriver]). This week I’m excited to talk about Spring…specifically Spring Cleaning.
This is usually something that I grumble about doing – but do love the end result. It can take a lot of time and work to clean up an apartment, house or yard. What if I told you that it didn’t have to take as long to clean up the winter knicks and scratches on your car – or even better – that you didn’t have to do it?
Spring cleaning applies to your vehicle, too. Winter can be tough on our cars and spring is the perfect time to spruce them up to avoid more potential damage (like rust!) throughout the spring and summer. Colorworks Express Autobody Centers are the go-to local business for your spring time spruce up for your vehicle. Check out a location near you today and call or email for a free estimate. Not only will your home and yard be looking fresh and ready for the season, but so will your vehicle.
Catch you next time and thanks for tuning in!
It’s here. Whether you are ready or not, winter is upon us. It might be disguised as a mild beast if you live in Southern Ontario but it’s here nonetheless. Welcome to another edition of Pass Me the Star (Screwdriver) or PMS.
An important detail to remember before the weather really takes a turn is to ensure your car is winter ready, too. For many of us this means changing our tires over to winter ones and perhaps getting an oil change to a more hearty oil to maximize performance in colder temperatures. To ensure your vehicle is properly protected you should also consider getting those knicks and scratches dealt with. Why can’t they wait until the spring? Well, they probably can. But. Yes, there’s always a but. Any surface damage that has broken through the paint coat will be more prone to oxidation, especially in colder, wetter temperatures, and therefore rust. Rust can turn what appears to be a quick and simple repair right now into a nightmare if it spreads to a larger area. Instead of buffing and repainting the damage, you’ll be looking at a much larger repair.
My two cents? If you have multiple or a few large areas that need to be repainted, don’t wait until the spring. Colorworks are experts with this sort of repair. They get it. Let them set you and your vehicle up for success this winter by taking care of your repairs now, not when they evolve into a bigger problem (and bill) for you down the road. Find a location near you today and be proactive this winter. http://colorworks.ca/find-a-location.html
Thanks for tuning in this week to PMS. Stay safe on those roads and we’ll catch you in a week or two!
Rust. It’s a four-letter word that every car owner dreads.
In Canada, where ice, snow, salt, combined with thousands of kilometres of gravel roads, can chip away your car’s built-in protection in no time.
Much of the damage to your car’s existing rust coating is caused by driving on unpaved roadways, like those found in cottage country or at national parks and campgrounds across Canada.
If you update your ride every couple of years, getting a spray-on rust coating generally isn’t worth it. But if you plan on driving your car for a good number of years, it can really help to increase the life of your car.
After-market protection costs roughly $150 for 12 to 18 months of protection, and could be well worth considering for your piece of mind, and save on costly remedial repairs.
Consider a good oil or wax based rustproofing system such as Krown, and keep that rust at bay!
